While Brook took over 250 deliveries to reach his 200, he took a little over 50 more deliveries to bring up his triple ton in no time. He also became the first England batter to score a triple ton since 1990. Brook has been in sublime form in the ongoing Test and has bashed the Pakistan bowlers all around the park. Brook now has scored the second fastest triple hundred after Virender Sehwag.

Brook walked out to join Joe Root on Day 3 following the dismissal of Ben Duckett (84). He went on to go past the 150-run mark at the end of play on Day 3 while Root stayed unbeaten and very close to his double ton. The duo continued to frustrate the hosts on Day 4 as they resumed piling up runs. Both batters went on to score double centuries and made it even sweeter by going past 250. The record partnership between Root and Brook propelled England to take the lead in a game this heading towards a draw for sure.
