A major blow has come for the Mumbai. Young talented batter Musheer Khan won’t be a part of the team and is set to miss the Irani Cup. Reports have emerged that the teenager while traveling to Lucknow suffered a fracture in a road accident. Musheer was travelling from Kanpur to Lucknow with his father when the road accident happened.

Musheer along with his brother Sarafarz was tipped to be part of the Mumbai squad who would take on Rest of India for the Irani Cup. The teenaged batting sensation was traveling to Lucknow with his father Naushan Khan when the road accident happened in Uttar Pradesh.

The Irani Cup is slated to start on 1st October. But with Musheer suffering a fracture, he has ruled out of the game. While more details regarding his injury is awaited, it surely is a major setback both for the player and the team.

“He didn’t travel with Mumbai team to Lucknow for the Irani Cup. He was probably traveling from his native place, Azamgarh, with his father, to Lucknow when the accident took place,” said a source to The Times of India.

Musheer has been top class in domestic cricket since last season. On his Duleep Trophy debut he hammered a brilliant 181 run knock against India A. Musheer is on line to be picked for India A when they shadow tour the India Cricket Team during their travel to Australia later on in the year.
